1. Live intentionally.
2. Say yes as often as you can.
3. Say no as often as you must.
4. We don’t have as much control as we think we do.
5. Rest.
6. Take vacations.
7. Your employer already has a replacement for you.
8. No one can take your education and knowledge away from you.
9. It’s OK to be proud of your accomplishments. Now, what will you do with them?
10. It doesn’t cost you anything to be kind.
11. Live your best day every day. Even if it is ‘just’ yard work, being a caregiver, or resting your body and your brain.
12. Don’t let anyone live rent-free in your head.
13. Ignore the naysayers. And remember, some of them are family members.
14. Keep an inner circle, and don’t allow yes-men or yes-women into that circle.
15. Be the bigger person and walk away. Even though you may look weak, think of the legal fees and possible prison time the other person will incur because they were not adult enough to just walk away.
16. Know how to defend yourself if you must.
17. Fight for your family. Even if the fight is solely through prayer.
18. Have an exit strategy. Always.
19. Trust the process. Your turn will come.
